Congratulations @Busdriver60

Martial arts training can be a great way to keep fit, and retain agility and flexibility.

Well done!

Congratulations @Busdriver60 on your purple karate belt. How long have you been learning karate?
My brother in law used to practice regularly but I don't think he does it now.

I have been training for nearly 2 and half years and I love it! Its also a great way to make friends and keep fit. I would recommend it to anyone who is able. My wife also trains too in a special needs class, as she is deaf.

Well done, and thanks for sharing. Having watched two of my children work their way up to black belt in Taekwondo I know how much work goes into it. So pleased it's paid off for you

I do Tai Chi and find it helps with my balance, core strength and flexibility. As I become fitter I am thinking of taking up a martial arts class. I will have to check what is available in my area.

Karate would be excellent for you!
Any able bodied person can.

Really well done Paul and congratulations.
I did a lot of Ju Jitsu when much younger and really enjoyed it but gave it up when I was away 3 nights a week with work and could not find the time to maintain my level.
Thank you Wendal

Thanks, I think Taekwondo is quite similar. Both great great activities to keep fit and make lots of friends!

Thanks Wendal. So glad I do karate now, I so enjoy it. It's great fun and keeps me fit!
Maybe one day, you could join a martial arts club again in the future?

Brilliant news, Paul. Well done. Roland

Isn’t there a more active form of Tai Chi you can do as I remember at Uni a few of my Martial Arts friends did things like Tai Chi and was it Wing Chun.Which incorporated both a slower more controlled “ inner balance and well being” aspect as well as a more active more traditional “ martial art “ part.
It is that aspect that I would appreciate much more now than the throwing folk about and choke holds which I used to enjoy as not sure my old joints would welcome that.

I don't know but I will ask my instructor. She has said before that some of our forms are based on martial arts moves. Sounds very interesting.

Yes absolutely! And I'm glad I doing just that and it's very sociable too. My body might be a little sore afterwards but I get so much positivity out of it.
