Hi, I'm Janey, type 2 diagnosed about 3 years ago. A big shock initially but got used to it pretty quickly. Had several problems, mainly ulcers but generally stable now. Live on an island in Orkney and have a fantastic GP which really helped. This forum seems very helpful so even if I don't post much I'll keep reading.
Welcome Janey, good to see someone from real up north!! My dads family are from Lewis, have always wanted to head up to Orkney if for nothing else but to see the home of the beautiful Highland Park!!!

Didn't go inside, as I hitched from outside Highland Park distillery last summer - and was picked up before it opened! I had tried and enjoyed it on many occasions. In fact, nearly all my hitching in recent years has been in Scotland, mainly on islands. Last time I spotted a hitch-hiker to pick up, heading east from Coventry, he was a professional driver, recently diagnosed with diabetes, so was able to help with advice as well as the lift.
