Type 2
Hello fellows and felowesses,

I have been asked to post a message to let you know you have another pain in the proverbial to contend with, so here goes.

My name is John and I am suffering from Type 2, so unfortunately is my wife.

I have suffered from the condition for about 5 years but my wife (Lynn) for only 3.

We are both retired and live in beautiful Devon.

The doctors and nurses who deal with diabetes at out surgery are the best I have ever encountered in my 70 years and we trust them implicitly.

We are sure we will get a great deal of help and advice from the other members of Diabetes UK.

It is a pleasure to meet you all.

John

Hi @John Brooks welcome to the forum. It’s good to hear you have such good care from your GP and nurses.
Feel free to ask questions we’ll do our best to help.

Welcome to the forum.🙂

Hello John and your wifey! Welcome ~ Sorry to hear you have joined the bandwagon but glad you found us ~ there's a wealth of knowledge & experience on our supportive forum. How have you been coping with your respective diabetes ~ and if I may ask, are you on any medications for it or are you managing your indivudual diabetes with diet and exercise only?

I can't tolerate Metform so I manage my diabetes with diet control and exercise ~ my last HbA1c was 32 (Non diabetic) so it can be done without medication. Take care and do please stay in touch.

Diet control and exercise only

I’m sure it’s the Club you didn’t much want to join but you’ll find a helpful, informative bunch here who may be a bit envious that you have such excellent diabetic care! :D
Do you home test as a matter of interest?

Hello John and welcome to the forum. 🙂 It would be interesting to know what advice you have received from your surgery? You are very lucky living in Devon.

Welcome to the forum John and Lynn🙂
