Hi ennaamron, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Have you been given any medication for your diabetes?

I would suggest having a look at our our Useful links thread - in particular Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter, and the excellent Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker - these will help you to understand what it is all about and how to approach getting your blood sugar levels under control.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have - there are lots of friendly, knowledgeable people here who will try their best to help you out, and nothing is considered 'silly'!
