8th May is my next appointment with the diabetic nurse. As some of you will know, I have been taking it 'Slow but Sure' since January. My weight is still coming down, but I am still just on the borderline of obese despite losing 20lb, but I am most pleased with my average daily BG results. I test first thing on a morning, and two hours after my main meal. At the end of the week I work out the average of these results, then every month I work out the average of those averages (wake up at the back)! and calculate a HbA1c for the month. From being 69 in December, I'm now looking at a figure of 38 over the last two months. Hopefully this will be round about the 'official' HbA1c when I get my bloods checked on the 8th.
I have taken a lot of information from this forum especially about diet, and my wife has been brilliant in preparing the right meals for me.
Will post the results when I get them, and talked to the D nurse.

Good luck, Chappy!😛

Well done Chappy however your meter should be able to give you your average BG levels for the month...mine will give me an average for up to 90 days.

Great progress @Chappy - hope it’s a positive appointment for you 🙂

Bubbsie, I checked the instructions for the meter and low and behold mine also gives averages up to 90 days. As the wife says, typical man not reading the manual. So thanks for that, it will save a bit of brain power, and I don't have too much to start with!

Snap... I never read the instructions either initially Chappy...someone here told me the meter would give me the average...so just passing that on...now you can pass it on too:D:D:D.

Good luck Chappy, it certainly sounds like you should expect a good improvement, after all the hard work, and the great support from your lady wife 🙂

Chappy I forgot to say the meter average readings are not a definite science...while it will give you the average for the last 90 days...and is a good general guide..it is just an approximate...only the HbA1c test will give you the definitive answer ...however it sounds as if you have good control of your diabetes & have made significant improvements...be interested to hear an update...good luck.
