Hello and welcome to forum

Welcome to the forum.🙂

Hi Caron, Welcome. It's a shock when you're first diagnosed . The truth is, is this is a condition that can be managed well so long as you receive the right info, support and if necessary medication.
Feel free to ask questions.
How did you come to be diagnosed.

Was not feeling to good went to docs losing weight feeling tired thought I was just stressed then got told I was diabetic was complete shock find it hard o take in all that is happening just now

Do you have any tests/appointments coming up? If so, do take a notepad and pen and write down everything. If you have any questions before the appointments, write the down and review them in the meeting. Ask for any test results and ask to have them explained ( and write them down). It will probably all seem like gobbledegook to start with, but you can refer back.

Also, do ask here, lots of lovely friendly people 🙂

Hello,
I am not a diabetic yet, but was called by my doctor after a routine test and told I was very close to be a type 2, was sent to the diabetic nurse and had a dramatic life change. Bike 9k everyday with a strict no sugar and no carbs diet. Lost 3 kilos in 2 weeks and feel better for it. The majority of my family are diabetics, including my brother now. I am still scared and is that fear that push me to the gym everyday at 6:30am regardless. So don't loose hope because this is manageable and everyday I learn more. Keep up the fight.

Good for you Luis. Keep going & doing what you are doing. T1 is a little different to T2 but exercise & lower carbs are very good & welcome
