Hello everyone.
Although I have been a member of Diabetes UK since being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2010, I have only just got around to registering on-line so that I can access Forums! I look forward to investigating the message boards and posting some questions.
Regards, JonH

Welcome to the Community @JonH! Please feel free to ask any questions or have a browse on the forum. How are you managing your diabetes?

Hi Josh. I manage my diabetes with metformin and diet. In December I was surprised with an HbA1c result of 66mmol - my highest since October 2014! I decided that I have been living in denial with my diabetes and it was time to make a concerted effort? Since start of January I have lost over 2 stone in weight, have changed to a low carb diet and cut down on alcohol. My HbA1c result in April was 39mmol and my nurse has halved my metformin dose - well-pleased!

Great stuff @JonH. Congratulations on the weight loss and fantastic HbA1c reduction.

Glad you have found an approach that works so well for you 🙂

They hadn't invented the internet when some of us joined DUK ! Balance was delivered rolled up in the post, in tabloid newspaper form - a broadsheet you had to spread on the floor and lie on your stomach to read, same way you read the Sunday paper and the local evening one. In those days of course lying on your stomach in front of the fireplace was not only possible but also felt comfortable ...... !! 😉
