Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hello All,
Am new here and found this site through Diabetes UK. I'm looking for support and advice from other people with Diabetes. I have lived with type 2 since December 2009 and am struggling with diet issues.
I look forward to reading posts and hoping to gain some help along the way.
Thank you for reading this and hope you are having a positive day in the sun

Hello and welcome to the forum! I haven't been here long but have already met some wonderful people who have given me so much advice and support that I feel much more able to cope with things now 🙂

What sort of issues are you having with your diet? Are you on any meds? Sorry about all the questions!

Unfortunately we don't have any sun here and I am stuck in a lab :( Only 3 hours to go until the weekend ...

Welcome queen of cuisine, you like your grub then............I am sure you will learn a lot about whats hot and whats not for a type 2 diet, the beauty/downside of it is everyone responds differently.........😉

Hi CuisineQueen

Welcome to the forum 🙂

You may have come across much of this already, but take a look at the useful info thread: http://www.diabetessupport.co.uk/boards/showthread.php?t=10406

Especially 'Jennifer's Advice'

Additionally Gretchen Becker's Book, "Type 2 diabetes: the first year" is highly recommended by T2s on the forum.

Post any particular problems/rants/questions you have and take a look around. Are you on medication or D&E? Do you have a BG meter and test your own levels?

Fire away. There are plenty of friendly T2s around to comapre notes with.

Hi Queenie and welcome to the forum, fire away with any questions and do have a look at the foodie parts of the site.

PS I misread your name at first and thought it said cruisinqueen😱

Welcome cuisinequeen.
Food - cooking it, growing it, eating etc is great, but it's not the only part of diabetes care - exercise is always important (gardening has double bonus of expending energy and growing food), but medication may also be important.

Hello there and welcome to the forum. You'll find lots of practical wisdom and tried and tested advice here. As has been said, not everything works for everyone, so have a look around and ask as many questions as you like. Take care. XXXXX
