Type 1
Hi everyone
I've just joined the boards. I'm 42, and have had Type 1 for 24 years this week!! I've been on an insulin pump for 6 years. I have some retinopathy (more laser due on Monday!!) and mild gastroparesis.
I have poor control due to a morbid fear of hypos and my last HbA1c was 10.7!! I find things a real struggle.
Thanks for reading
Donna 🙂

Hi Donna and a warm welcome to the forum. 🙂

For me, hypos are a nuisance and tiring (especially repeated night time ones) and I have always been a lot more concerned about them than going high. It is the retinopathy that scares me more, now, hence my struggles to improve control. Having always been fairly stable, I don't actually fear them, though.

Can only imagine what it is like for you, though, having a bigger issue with hypos :(
