Evening all, just had a phone call from my dn, told her how I am doing numbers etc.
Also told her that within the last 2 weeks i have had an increase of hot flushes through my feet and arms and hands, and tingling in my fingers that seem to last up to 4 hours from the morning onwards.
She said i need to see my gp which i actually do have an appointment to see this Friday, in short she said i need to be referred.
This worries me so much!
I have the impression from her voice there is something else wrong with me, I'm so on edge now and am worrying about seeing doc, because everytime i see him its always bad news!
Will this ever bloody end?
It maybe nothing but to be told i NEED to be referred by my dn...well im just constantly worried now!

This sounds like it may be something called 'transient neuropathy'. As your numbers improve your nerves can become more sensitive, producing the type of symptoms you describe. I had this when my levels began to improve after diagnosis. The key word is 'transient' - hopefully, this will not last as your levels become better and more stable. 🙂

This happened to me too as my numbers came down and stabilised. Talk to the doctor by all means, but I believe it's a sign that things are improving for you.

Fingers crossed for you Jalapino that things improve for you soon as you certainly seem to have been having a tough time recently

Jalapino I'm hoping that it is temporary as your BGs improve. Did your DN say what to do to continue to lower your BGs?

I just have to keep upping my units up every 3 days, so I'm on 20 units in the morning and same in the evening still running fairly high numbers, I have been jotting it all down.

I definitely had the pins and needles as my numbers came down. In some instances I also had severe pains in my toes - like when I was hiking on the cliff paths and BGs dropped quickly. All gone now since I've had better control.
