I was wondering that too and keeping my fingers crossed. I have been given another prescription for further iron supplements but GP not concerned about anything else. He is not sure whether it has affected the hba1c but he thought, on reflexion, not as I had not gone totally anaemic. My haemoglobin has gone back to 12.2 now and I am hoping to go back to blood donors but will have to see whether the blood will be any good to them if it is "iron" deficient at present. I cannot talk him into doing another hba1c for a year as I am only "borderline" pre-diabetic. Will keep self testing and see what happens.
my haemoglobin due to blood donoring goes all over the show quite honestly since I took part in a study about giving blood more often. It has ended now so am back to the usual 16 weeks. It was during that that the blood sugars went haywire.
