Welcome Trina - sorry to had to join the club. Medication is part of the story, but managing your diet - primarily thinking about carbohydrate content of foods - and increasing exercise - not just sport, but things like walking, cycling, gardening etc, which also have the benefit of reducing money spent on car petrol / diesel / transport fares, producing vegetables & fruit [berries are especially good, as they're low sugar], as well as reducing CO2 emissions from vehicles - are also vital.
