Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Newly diagnosed T2 last week and trying to get my head around things.
GP put me straight on to meds which was a little disappointing as Im not sure if its the drug or the changes Im trying to make in my diet that will be directing my bg changes.
But reading through the education information and message boards is helping answer some of my questions and giving me a lot of reassurance.

Depending on which meds some one of the main suspects - Metformin - doesn't have any effect on diabetes anyway for 2-3 weeks. Other drugs do different things depending on what your body is having difficulty with - secreting enough insulin overall because your body has become insulin resistant or maybe secreting enough between meals but not enough to cope with meals, or something different.

What lead to your diagnosis and what drug(s) are you taking?
