Just come back from doctors , and have come back in tears .I went because ive been getting a lot of bloating in my stomach low back ache and just generally very tired , plus having trouble with blood sugars due to stress , Well anyway a comment was made rather tacklessly by my doctor about my weight and i spent the rest of the appt in floods of tears , my husband took over saying how upset i am about my weight , the doctor went on 3 x to apologise and usually he is such a brilliant doctor i have let it go and really do think he just didnt think first (still doesnt stop it hurting tho :( ) the result is he is now sending me for some blood tests to do with ovaries (another thing to stress over ,)

oh Jenny how terrible thoughtless of him ! I hope he's kicking himself now, as he could see how much he's upset you and it may make him think twice about being so insensitive to another patient.

It was good you had your hubby there but I can only send you hugs and lots of them.

Aw Jenny, sorry he has upset you so much. Looking at your signature (hba1c) you have been doing brilliantly well... we are not all perfect and can't get everything right all the time, but you should be so proud of yourself for what you have achieved. You deserve praise and a big pat on the back. Try to put what he said behind you and move forward... he obviously just doesn't know what it's like to walk in your shoes! Look at the tests as a positive, if there was a problem is best to find out asap, and if not then that's ruled out. Take care,

Aileen x

So sorry that you are so down - I will try and look for the positive out of the appointment which is that the Dr is taking your worries about bloating seriously and sending you for tests. You are the second person in a week that I have heard of being referred for tests on ovaries.

Is there anything you can do for yourself this evening, a nice bath, favourite book or film.

Hope your husband realises how insensitive he has been.

Sorry to hear about your experience Jenny. Try not to let it play on your mind (easier said than done I know)

Hope you feel better tomorrow.

{{{Hugs}}} namesake. I bet your doc wished the ground would swallow him up.

Honestly, it's as well he knows how you really feel about it.

But as someone else has already said - if they find summat out then it may be easily sorted - and possibly quicker, too - given how you obviously feel. That being the case perhaps it will sort out - or at the very least explain - your weight issue?

I do hope so, hun !

Us wimmin have a lot more plumbing to go wrong than you chaps!

I'm sorry your docs insensitivity upset you Jenny. I do know how you feel as it's happened to me before. I think it hurts more when they catch when you are feeling vulnerable anyway. I think both your doc and a couple of mine were off sick the day they studied 'bedside manners' at medical school. Sending you hugs. XXXXX

Still cross now , my husband says im too sensitive 😱

I think I'd have reacted the same way Jenny, Dr should have kept it to himself. Sending lots of hugs your way! xx
