Evening world...not sure where to start...so from previous threads you no i have moaned about feeling dizzy.....well i had appointment last week with docs and was given one week off and changed my bp tabs....well back to work tmr and feel really bad still....every morning i wake up and think hmmm feel better but then an hour later i start to feel all odd and dizzy again better when i sit down but worse when i get up...im not talking about a litttle dizzy i meen bloody horrible dizzy and get bad headaches...it's like a heavy dizzy feeling...and find it so hard to concerntrate on anything when this funny spell comes on...there getting more regular and it's making everything so hard work....every little task even shopping...cos i no im gunna spin out...my bs levels have been riseing but do not think it is that because all in all they have been good and bp not bad...i am about 145/105 im sorry to keep going on but feel so worried as this has never happend before and is not getting better and doc keeps saying it's just bp...then why do i feel like this?....i just want some sort of normality again....can't go on like this...im so sorry to blaber on just need to vent this out as it is getting really hard work!!

Hi Ant,
sorry to hear you are still under the weather.
When do you take your BP meds?
I asked because my Mum had problems like you and her GP told her to take the meds at bedtime. This cured the problem.

You don't actually sound fit enough to go to work, so perhaps it would be better to go back to your GP and say how bad you are feeling.

Hi sue....i stopped taking last meds for 5 days and still felt bad, i also tryed taking evening rather than morning but it made no difference, these new meds i do not feel any different apart from not feeling my heart race and bang agianst my chest 🙄 and as for work they need me so i must go...no choice im afraid....but i really hope this gets better as i can't take more of this....even harder trying to keep 2 children entertained 🙂

Ant, are you sure you are 145/105 or is that just when you get tested at the docs? I ask because my BP is always way up there at the surgery but at home it's nowhere near - in fact it's pretty much perfect, bordering on the low (92/63 this morning). I got myself a home meter so I could take regular readings without the white coats around and I am consistently fine.

I got an Omron MX2 Digital Automatic Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor - same brand as the GP's with same accuracy. My GP accepts my readings are fine so has kept my BP meds to a minimum 🙂

Sue makes a good point about when to take the BP meds - I was also told to take them in the evening. Another thing I found I was OK on fairly low doses, but then once above a critical levels seemed to be really badly affected so GP kept me on the lower dose.

Ant,
what meds are you if any?
Are your symptoms due to low blood sugar or lower than what you have been used to?

Hi alan that reading was 3 hours ago...i have a omron m10, .i take in the morning which is apx 140/90 which is good, then as i said give it an hour feel more dizzy then it's about 145/105 ish..take last night...i was calm sat upright etc etc...no work out and was 162/110?..they are random and i no my meter is good as this is what they use at the docs, plus i can take it to show doc as it has memory store like yours, but my point is why all the dizzy spells...and im not talking once or twice a day im talking at least 10+

I'm afraid you've got me stumped then Ant. It's obviously not low BP, but maybe it's the ramipril itself - perhaps you need a different type of BP med? I was on ramipril but changed to candesartan which works differently to lower your BP. Might be worth asking the GP about. Do take care at work and take a break if feeling bad.

Thanks alan..................i honestly feel scared...what makes me wonder is that maybe the drugs are not making feel like this? as i said before i stopped taking last bp tabs before apx 5 weeks and still felt the same...very confused and worried...thankyou anyway.

Hi Ant,
did you read the side effects?
All your symptoms are listed so suspect thats your problem.

like I suggested last week you really should ask Doc for an ecg especially if you are suffering arrhythmia... Rule out heart issues, don't just assume its BP and don't let the Doc just assume that.

Take yourself to A&E to get checked out.

hello again,
are your dizzy spells activity related ?
and when your heart starts beating rapidly, is that as a result of activity or stress or just out of the blue ?

mornin jalo,

well you can't let this run on and on.
Its time to seek a proper diagnosis and treatment ... And I don't mean from your blase GP.
You owe it to your family to sort this out asap no matter what the outcome is.

Hi,

I hope you have been to get some advice. We are all different and what suits one for BP may not suit another.

It seems like the Ramipril can give people the very effects you are describing.

http://xpil.medicines.org.uk/ViewPil.aspx?DocID=18373

The dizziness is highlighted as is a faster heart rate and uneven or forceful heart beat.

If your G.P. is not interested then A@E is the obvious answer unless there is a walk in centre near you.

Hope you get sorted. I know how you feel as I have had trial and error with BP meds for a long time. Worrying about how you feel is the last thing you want as this will raise your BP.

Take care.
Maise.

Ok so as of last night stopped taking all meds....then give it a few days see what happens...i no i gotta get this sorted but now we are very busy at work...im going to keep checking bp and give it time for all drugs to get outta my system....then if in one week still not right i will go to a&e or phone nhs direct....i don't like wasting time and don't want to worry my family...on top of that worried it maybe something else....but i will get it checked out if not right in one week...thankyou for all your help...i no it is not diabetes related so sorry for all the posts on this subject.
