Interesting, and a good move I believe - from some of the tales related here, some of our doctors are hopelessly out of touch if indeed they were ever in touch with modern practise. Thankfully, I have a GP who would pass with flying colours!🙂

Let's hope it is a good move, but there's so much regualtion out there, and still crooks/bad practise occuring so will it really be an answer?? Or just another bit of paper for GP's to fill out and the NHS to fund the processing of?

Sorry for being pesimistic!

It's realistically the renewal of these licenses and exactly what they have to do in the first place to obtain their license that is important.

Is it just filling in a form so that someone knows they are there, or do they have to satisfy some core competances to get the license?

If its the former and depending on the renewal process I am presuming that if a Doctor has a given number of negative reports on them, they can have their license suspended and therefore they can't practice until refreshing their license through additional training.

Perhaps use and control of English in a form that the majority of the population can understand could be a part of the criteria - e.g. explaining things in plain English rather than assuming all patients are medically qualified? 🙄

Let's hope it delivers what it sets out to deliver.
