I don't see diabetes mentioned. Am I missing something? having been told by so many people that the act applies to diabetics yet I can't find a reference.

Headscratching

I'm not really an expert. But quick googling found this page: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeople/RightsAndObligations/DisabilityRights/DG_4001068 which says that in Oct this year a new set of regulations will come in called the Equality Act 2010 which seems to encompass disability, race, religion, gender and other stuff.

In regards to the DDA I thought the diabetes was implied. As I remember there is a section defining disability as "a mental or physical impairment which has a substantial and long- term adverse effect on their ability to carry out day-to-day activities" which includes a wide range of conditions including diabetes.

I read that act also, it did not change any existing laws. What it did was bunch a whole load of them together.

And I and still at a loss to see how diabetes is covered by the 2005 or the 1995 acts.

I'm no lawyer though.

That is exactly what is was looking for:D Thak you very much helen
