ok folks, silly little post from me but I'm so happy today that I've had 2 successive nights where I've woken up with readings that are within 0.2 of each other (and those were after I went to bed with vastly different readings, one 12.9 but meter noting I still had correctional floating around and one being 7.9 where it gave a tiny correctional to bring it down). This has never happened before - and certainly not where I've gone to bed with 2 different sets of readings!! SO SO happy!

and, to make things even better, my readings today have been 4.5 (breakfast), 7.4 (2hrs before lunch) and 6.3 (lunch). Today is a (rare) GOOD DAY! Only 0.9 of correctional needed today so far (for the 7.4 reading)!!!

(Now, just got to work out how to manage the 2 hour charity Combat I'm doing tonight.....)

happy Wednesday folks :D

Great news Dory, really pleased for you 🙂 Be sure to take all that jumping around into consideration today! :D

Thanks!

as for the 2 hour thing, what I am planning on is testing before i leave the house (takes me 30mins to get to the class), having something to get levels up if needed, test before it starts, then half way through then at end. hopefully I'll be able to keep it under control (and have the persimmon at the end now!)

That's great news and fab readings for today.

Brilliant news, it is nice to have good days, long may they continue...

Yay! Good to hear.

Good luck with the 'Charity Combat'. 2hrs is a looooong time 😱. Would you normally disconnect or run an almost 0% TBR (I've been using 10% for longer runs recently)

Sounds like you'll be needing some lucozade nearby!

thanks guys :D

welllllll Mike, funny you should mention that - I remember you saying in another post that you disconnect and I was thinking aout that technique last night, so I may do that. I've tested the effects of an hour of combat and that normally brings my reading down by 5mmol.

So may disconnect completely and then take carbs at the 1hr interval if needed. If being off the pump is having an adverse effect I can always reconnect, right?

This is the 2nd one I've done now and is for Help For Heroes 🙂

ps lucozade is the spawn of satan! 😉 I'll take my trusty grapes and tablets to take if absolutely necessary.....

Will be interesting to see - and yes, I guess testing at 1hr would be essential. As long as you have *some* active insulin on board. Never tried that length of complete disconnection, but 1.5hr runs on 10% have still left me hypo! (with a reduced bolus meal beforehand, that is).

Look forward to hearing how you get on. Keep us updated 🙂

well the combatathon didn't happen.....sugars went low at 5pm (2.9 whilst on the train home!) and took 40 mins to get up to 7.9. Of course doing 2 hrs of high intensity cardio is going to crash it badly again and I didn't want to put my body/liver in that position so sensibly opted out. Also, I have a cold anyway so was going to be doing it very groggy-headed!

So having a quiet night (which I really need tbh), just waiting for my roast beef and squtternut bosh to cook. Yum 🙂

A sensible move Dory, enjoy your meal and have a relaxing evening 🙂 Hope you feel better soon 🙂

thanks hobie - have been tucked up most of today in front of the TV with a blanket and lemsip (thank god for a day's leave). very pathetic!!
