Less than ten years until I get my Joslin medal and when I get it I fully intend to list a long list of things that I've done during fifty years of diabetes:D

Can you get a Joslin Medal in the UK?
DUK has it's own medals:
The Alan Nabarro Medal for 50 years of living with diabetes
The Robert Lawrence Medal for 60 years of living with diabetes
The John Macleod Medal for 70 years of living with diabetes

You must have been diagnosed at a similarly young age to me then?! I was 11 months old... coming up to my 1/3 century with the Big D lol! Bit longer to go for a Joslin though... :D Know what you mean about the lists!

Hi Twitchy I was a bit older than you at 2 1/2years. Hope you've got plans to celebrate your 1/3 anniversary. I think that once I've got back on top of things I will need to add things to my "list" although this may well worry my toyboy who is happy just to come home from work each day and chill. :D

Hehe - I'm thinking a party will be in order - I've got a year to plan it so it should be a good one lol! Hubby thinks I'm insane... I just point out that 33 yrs 'extra time' during which I've managed to have 2 wonderful kids & achieve most of my goals to date is worth celebrating! (esp given that on diagnosis my parents were given the idea that I probably wouldn't be able to have kids! 😱). Definite call for a party methinks... :D
