Hi I joined this forum last year and it really helped me,
Basically I haven't been on here for good few months due to so much going on socially and I knew I couldn't maintain what I was doing, I come from Indian background and our functions are full of rich foods etc
I went to GP last month and surprised myself my blood levels went from 49 to 45, I lost half a stone and all my vitals very good
My concern is how to maintain this and keep losing weight
I can't seem to find a way to start again ...I have tried constantly

Welcome back, it sounds as if you have done pretty well to reduce you HbA1C to below the diagnostic level so whatever you have been doing has been working for you.
Have you been following a low carb approach then maybe a bit more tweaking and making some substitutions for any of the higher carb foods you are still having will give you a boost.
I don't know if you are vegetarian but this may give you some ideas for the basis for meals.

Thank you for the link
I just need to pick myself up and start again, this what I am struggling with mentally preparing myself
I know once I start I will be ok
Sorry probably doesn't make sense

Welcome back @Suky R

Great to hear you’ve been able to lose some weight and that your HbA1c has come down.

I think many of us can sympathise with that feeling of ‘heaviness’ when you have something you know you need to get back on with. As you have said, you know that once you get going it will fall into place.

Whatever you choose has to be sustainable. Would it help to set yourself some smaller, more manageable goals so that it doesn’t feel so overwhelming. Break it down into smaller chunks, that you can commit to. Perhaps a split of days in the week, breaking up days where you’ll be more focussed on your goals, in between days where you can be a bit more relaxed?

I think for some people it’s a mentality thing. Some find a blended/phased approach works best, while for others it’s better to go all-in and make a complete switch. Only you can tell which is most likely to work for you. 🙂
