Follow in fundraiser Jason McEwen?s footsteps as he gears up for the BUPA Great Manchester Run in aid of Diabetes UK. Jason McEwen is gearing up to take part in the BUPA Great Manchester Run 2012 to raise funds for Diabetes UK - and it?s a cause close to his heart. Last year, Jason, a 33-year-old management consultant from south Manchester, was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. He said: ?I had no idea I had diabetes. I was having trouble with vertigo and my eyesight sometimes went a bit blurry, but I didn?t connect this with diabetes. So, when I was diagnosed, it was a massive shock.? Following his diagnosis, Jason went through many emotions, including anger and depression. However, alongside support from his family and friends - as well as the Diabetes UK website - Jason was able to come to terms with his condition.
