JOBS are to be lost at East Yorkshire's hospitals next year as NHS bosses face making cutbacks of £24m.
Staff at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham may not be replaced if they leave or retire, while others could see their jobs changing as part of an action plan to tackle the multi-million pound funding cut.
Hospital beds could also be reduced further, in addition to ward closures already carried out, with people being treated closer to home to reduce the financial burden on the trust.
Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust has already made cuts of £95m since 2010 and this further cut will come as a blow to health workers, already struggling with increasing workloads and staff shortages.
