HI I will be going to Victoza injections with metformin tablets. Could anyone help with side efforts and weight loss
Thanks

Hi Baileyjean and welcome to the forums.
While very few people would argue against the use of Metformin for T2 Diabetes, there are many who would suggest a Low Carb 'Way Of Eating' rather than use a GKP-1 receptor agonist such as Victoza or Trulicity (or worse still Ozempic).
These try to squeeze every last drop of Insulin out from your pancreas until eventually it gives up producing Insulin, and then you progress to Insulin Injections.

None of these (or any other medicine) has as much effect on lowering Blood Glucose in a Type 2 Diabetic as Low Carb does.

Hi Jean, sorry I cant offer any advice with the suggested meds but I wanted to say hello and welcome anyway 🙂

We have had a few members over the years who have been on Victoza. Bloating and nausea seem to be mentioned on some threads, but I don’t know how common those side effects are.
