Is anyone else on Janumet? When Tony was first diagnosed, last November, he was put on Metformin and Gliclazide, then, after a few months, the nurse said his blood sugar was getting too low, and prescribed Janumet for him, and to be honest, he hasn't been right ever since. His blood sugar is sky high again. She has now given him Gliclazide agian. Is it normal for the nurse to prescribe medicine?

Some nurses are specially qualified 'nurse prescribers'. so can prescribe. I'm afraid I have not experience of Janumet - hope he fares better now he is back on the gliclizide 🙂

Just looked it up and see it is a combination of sitagliptin and metformin.

Janumet is Metformin with Sitagliptin. I am taking both meds as seperate pills.

His he taking the one with 1000mg Metformin and 50mg Sitagliptin x2 a day? which would be an identical dose to me.
