For as long as Paige Young can remember, diabetes has been a constant companion in her life.
?You don?t have many memories before you?re 7 on how life was,? Young said. ?It?s (diabetes) basically been my life for the last 10 years. It?s kind of everything I know now and nothing?s been different.?
While Young, a Jackson High School senior, might retain some memories from prior to being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a 7-year old, the disease has been with Jackson sophomore Amanda Bleichrodt nearly since birth.
?I was diagnosed at 10 months, so it?s been sort of a way of life for me ever since I can remember,? Bleichrodt said. ?I have never known anything different.?
