.....That it's my first Diaversary today.....
Twelve months ago when diagnosed as having T2 it was an overwhelming shock for me and I was in denial of it for months - it was only when I joined this forum in January of this year - (and thank goodness I did) - that my diabetes became a reality and I realised it had to be addressed.
Without the amazing help advice encouragement and loyal - yes loyal support I received from all you wonderful forum folk - and still do - I doubt I would have been in the position that I am today - by that I mean you alerted me to amongst other things - the dangers of consuming certain foods like Carbohydrates & sugars that would have had such a profound impact upon my health should I have choosen to ignore your sound advice.
The knowledge that you have imparted from your own personal experiences of diabetes to me is invaluable - I profess it's not been an easy ride for me as I guess it has similarly not been for you either but I still have a long way to go yet - still much to learn about diabetes - my diabetes - occasionally (Confession time!) denial creeps back and I have a field day eating what I shouldn't only to later be denied the pleasure of repeating my gluttony by a visit or two from our mischievious DF who - I hasten to add - is really only there as a reminder to prevent me (us) from relapsing again! Bless her darling cotton socks 😡
So - my first year living with diabetes ends tonight and as from tomorrow I invite - & hope my trusty forum friends will accompany me on the next leg of my diabetes journey - as I will with yours. I appreciate & thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done for me during my first year of living with diabetes - I am ever grateful for your input. Please stay as well as you can be - & be kind to each other.
My usual take care wishes & (((hugs)))
