Can camel milk cure you of diabetes?

A debate is raging across the scientific world about the effectiveness of camel milk in treating diabetes, with a Middle East company promoting its use and modern research claiming that there is no clear indication of its effectiveness.

Camel milk can be an effective remedy for diabetes as it contains high levels of insulin and helped sufferers of Type 2 diabetes by reducing their reliance on injections, published reports said citing Indian studies.
Even if the insulin in the milk did work, it would have to be taken in very specific quantities at certain times of the day otherwise people with diabetes would be at greater risk of low and high blood glucose levels, warned experts.

🙄

Wouldn't it be digested before the insulin had a chance to work properly? Can't see it myself thoe.

....I wonder what the carb count is for camel's milk! :D

Is it April 1st already? Don't believe a word of it. The side effects of camel milk are awful - tendency to spit, grumbling tummy, foul breath and inclination to climb churches and ring bells (on account of the hump).:D

Another thought, would it need to be pasturised or treated in some way like cows milk is? And would this pasturising or serilising destroy anything else like insulin too?

LOL don't know whether to laugh or gag! :D (although fresh goats milk tastes fine - maybe camel milk would too?)

On a similar note at the vets the other day I heard that diabetic cats (on insulin) can sometimes recover - this was from the vet nurse - and they are the only animal who can do that! Now I hate, hate, hate the idea of animal testing 😱, but it's fascinating to know - I wonder why/how they do it?!!

These tails give me the hump. 😛

I'll get me coat.
