Just booked myself onto the Birmingham Fun Run in August to raise funds for Diabetes UK..... no turning back now...😱

Merry Christmas... Amanda x 🙂

Fantastic Amanda! It's an excellent idea to have a goal like that to aim for and keep you motivated 🙂 Have you ever been running before? If not, the best advice I can give you is to get a good pair of running shoes - they are by far the most important thing. If you ca, go to a specialist running shop - I believe there is one in Birmingham - as they will be able to advise you of a suitable pair. 🙂

Good luck. Time to start getting the feet ready for August, the socks will be as important as the footwear.

As Northerner said make sure you have been properly fitted for the running shoes.🙂

Thanks Alan; no I've never ran before which is why I'm going for my 1st over a short distance... I will definately come back to you for plenty of tips; I was going to do it last year but was let down by others who was going to do it with me but I thought I'm definately doing it this year - on my own and more importantly for a good cause...

From new year's eve I will devise a timetable to ensure I pace myself properly.. ensure I do my 10,000 steps a day including short jogs... I'm looking forward to it already.... 🙄

Well done and good luck when the time comes.

Amanda well done and a big good luck to you when the time comes xx

Good Luck Amanda for when the time comes.

Enjoy, Amanda!

You could try a local running club - many have special sessions or groups for beginners offering advice and support.
