It seems after reading comments on this site re publications, it seems that most good books are American. So how do I calculate the American figures into UK figures?

Divide the American figure by 18 to get the UK equivalent. Conversely, multiply the UK by 18 to get the American.

2 36 dangerously low
3 54 low, you need to eat something quickly
4 72 slightly low
5 90 normal before eating
6 108 normal before eating
7 126 normal before eating
8 144 maximum before bedtime
9 162
10 180 maximum 1-2 hours after a meal

Thank you Northerner. I have often wondered how to convert the American figures into our language. This explains it fully.

Thanks again.

Dear Rubymurry,
Just to add to Northerner's post, 18 is the conversion factor for Glucose. Other substances are different e.g. Cholesterol has a conversion factor of approx 38.6
