Thanks guys. Just about to head off now. Will test when I get in, eat 2 Belvita biscuit things (17g carb), inject then off to the gym. I'll report back later!

Thank you all for your patience with me today. As supportive as ever 🙂

Hi guys,

So last night:
- was 8.9 when I got in from work
- ate 2 Belvitas & injected 3u (instead of 4.5 suggested)
- mid workoutwas 8.4
- end of workout - 8.1
- before dinner - 8.7
- ate shephards pie, took half a unit off suggested bolus
- before bed - 15.2 :(

But I am not getting disheartened. The high before bed could have been me miscalculating the carb count (hard to weight mashed potato on the top of a shephards pie! so I had guessed). I'm going to repeat on Wednesday but make my dinner something with the carbs on the packets so I can make it a true test.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions...fingers crossed for Wednesday!! 🙂

Looking good Katie - nice and steady through the exercise, and as you say, shepherd's pie is not easy to carb count, so a simpler meal should give you a better idea of whether the snack/injection is helping 🙂

:D very happy!! Though I did feel sick :( most of the cardio is fine, but the treadmill with any food in me just makes me feel sick...ah well, I suppose we can't have it all! I'll just have to battle through it and hope it will improve.

As I said earlier, I did find that, after a while, I could run OK with food inside me, although it's true that I do still occasionally get a little nauseous. Hope it improves for you soon 🙂

Hi Katie, good that your levels stayed consistent through your exercise, you have either got your carb count wrong with your shepherds pie or maybe your insulin/carb ratio is not perfect. I didn't realize that my insulin/carb ratio needed to be different depending on time of the day until I started using an insulin pump, MDI for years without knowing! Bfast I'm 2.7 to 10g, lunch I'm 2u to 10g and dinner I'm 2.5 to 10g

ah good point Phil. At the moment I have the same ratios for all meals, so you may well be right there.

Wednesday I imagine I will stick to something fairly 'safe' like spaghetti on toast...shouldn't have any peaks and has all the carbs on the packs. I'll see what happens! I'm hoping I miscounted yesterday!
