Does anyone here have this happen? Where I inject humalog, the sites are quite often itchy - not every single time, but more often than not. It does subside but is still irritating me.

And lantus one, that stings! Are all basals similar?

Never had a reaction to humalog when I used it, but it is quite possible to have a reaction to one or more components in any insulin. I found Humalog and NovoRapid quite similar in profile so that might be an easy-ish switch.

Lantus is well known for stinging - that is down to its acidic nature and will not change. Levemir has a completely different formulation/dispersal method which does not involve pH so might be worth trying if the stinging is getting to you.

Details on the differences between Lantus and Levemir here: http://www.diabeteshealth.com/read/2007/07/17/5316/lantus-and-levemir--whats-the-difference/
