It is an insult to voters to suggest we don't know the NHS needs urgent reform

Although the main political parties plan to use next May’s general election as the opportunity to offer voters a choice on which would be the better guardian of the NHS, they are both being very disingenuous.

For neither the Tories nor Labour, sadly, are honest enough to tell the electorate the truth about what must be done to stop Britain’s health service from collapsing.

The Tories stand by their ill-executed funding reform plan, even though the near-unanimous opinion of NHS staff is that money has been wasted. Meanwhile, Labour’s mantra is that simply throwing yet more money at the health service and undoing the Coalition’s reforms is all that is required to make it thrive.
