Great 5.8 this morning, off I went to work and stopped off at McDonalds for my breakfast as I did on both Monday and Tuesday too (naughty but nice). Same amount of Novorapid as the other two days. Monday and Tuesday, lunch time readings were about the same as waking readings, today however, lunchtime was a whopping 11.5!

The only difference today was that I had a bit of pain when I injected, don't have that very often and have always just thought that maybe I hit a nerve ending or something, now I'm starting to wonder if the pain is an indication that I'm injecting in the wrong area or maybe hitting the same spot before its had a chance to recover from the last time an injection hitnthat spot. I usually inject in the abdomen but do tend to favour the right side as it seems to be more natural as a right handed person.

Any thoughts? The 11.5 has ruined my otherwise perfect week :(

The pain could be indicative of something (certainly something to watch for if you notice a pattern)... on the other hand it could just be the 'moon in venus', or just one of the other million imponderables.

Might be worth asking about different needle lengths if injections are painful? And DO make sure you rotate your sites well, giving your tissues the best chance of recovery before a similar area is reused or you could end up with scarring/lipohypertrophy under the skin which is a real pain.

Thanks Mike, I use 5mm needles currently, it's rare that I get a pain when injecting which makes me think that it's maybe hitting the same area or just "the Moon in Venus", just seems really coincidentally that pain seemed to equal the insulin having no effect this morning!
