Hi
I'm not hungy, havn't been for 2 days. I haven't been able to eat today, i've had tea, juice etc but nothing else. Last drink about an hour ago and my reading is 7.6

Help please with any advice.

p.s. had bad news yesterday/stress/etc

Hi Sunrise, I'm sorry to hear that you have had some bad news :( Stress from that might have raised your levels as your liver releases more glucose in response. What did you have to drink prior to the test? If fruit juice, that can have quite a lot of sugar in it. Ideally, you need to know your level prior to eating/drinking anything with carbs so you can compare afterwards. However, if you haven't been eating, this can also, paradoxically, raise your levels as your brain thinks you are starving and (again!) prompts your liver to release more glucose. Ideally, you should be around 4-6 prior to eating.

These sound like unusual circumstances, so don't worry about this too much and try again when you are feeling more settled and eating normally.
