Is sugar worse for you than smoking?

We know only too well the harm smoking can do: lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and heart disease.

Cigarettes are also implicated in many cancers ? lung cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer to name but a few.

But could sugar be as poisonous? The answer is yes.

A professor of endocrinology and metabolism I did research with warned me the scourge of modern living would not be cholesterol, or salt, or animal fat... it would be sugar.

But does sugar not save the life of someone having a hypo? or potentially anyway.Bare in mind ive not had a hypo so know little or nothing about them so the Q could be a daft one
