after each dose of insulin, the large dose that i have im getting slight stomach cramps, like i've exercised my stomach. Its not painful and my tummy isn't painful to the touch but its a little uncomfy. I'm hoping its nothing and wondered if anyone else had anything similar when they first started with insulin and if its normal.

thanks

I think it may be more likely that it is related to tension and anxiety rather than the injection or the insulin. It could also be that it is due to hunger, since you will be injecting when you are ready to eat, and it may be that you become aware of your stomach and how it feels more when you are injecting, as your attention is drawn to it.

i didn't think of it that way, i'll see how it goes as you are probably right. I do get quite bad hunger pains but its normally between dinner and and tea lol

Another possibilty is that it is the high sugar levels - I can remember getting stomach pains in the lead up to my diagnosis. You levels will go up after eating which is when you are eating so may be related to that.

I guess that you are in touch with a DSN so maybe you could call them - they will have more experience about this and may have come across this before or alternatly they may suggest you speak to your GP.
