Relationship to Diabetes
At risk of diabetes
Does it stimulate an insulin response or influence blood sugar? Does it influence insulin resistance?

I am new to all of this.

Just as a non diabetic would be told, its not great to drink it all the time etc but no extra issues for a diabetic.

Most people are fine with it, artificial sweeteners can affect some people and any with OL at the end e.g xylitol or erythritol can give people stomach issues if had in quantity as in cooking with it.
Sugar free drinks are tolerated by most people but sometimes people mention particular ones which do spike their blood glucose.
If you are having in a pub most people like to see it come from a bottle not from the dispensing machines to be sure it is diet Coke

We all react differently.
Many people with diabetes will see no affect from diet sodas but some people’s blood sugar can rise due to the artificial sweeteners and some people find the caffeine can have an impact.
It is important to know what, if any, impact it has on you. So the best thing to do is to test your blood sugar before and test it a couple of hours later.
