As I sit here waiting my phone to complete an automatic update I thought I would pop on my PC and check for any issues with the FSL App and IOS 17.

I have had no email from them to tell me otherwise and in my case it would make no difference anyhow as it has started to do an autoupdate.

So image my horror when I checked their website and found that there are warnings about upgrading.

FSL need to be more proactive with these warnings and send out emails before hand.

If I were you I would not make my mistake and turn off auto updates until it is confirmed that the existing app works.

Ah what a nightmare @K4RLMORG4N

I generally dont allow the OS to update automatically on my devices to avoid just this scenario!

Plus it means I can choose my update time so it doesn’t start when I need to leave the house / need my phone whatever.

Hope the app is patched soon

Abbott seem to be lurching from one app calamity to another recently

Hi, I am guessing your phone has now updated and I wondered what issues you are seeing with FSL since?

So far everything seems to be functioning but I had to rescan the sensor 4 times before it would reconnect. Not sure what that was about but it eventually reconnected and displayed my BG levels. Everything else seems to be functioning although I have not had an alarm yet as I am kinda in range so I shall report back if I get one and it all works ok. I was dreading it like the last time when they completely screwed the app up with the CGM update. I lost all my data during that so was in a panic thinking it was about to happen again.

I had chicken and noodles for tea so it takes a little while for it to rise. I deliberately put less insulin than normal to test the alarms work. If they do I will do a correction and bring it back into range. The things I do for science lol. Seriously I know only too well the dangers of alarms not going off when low so I will make sure I fully test it.

Thank you. I’m going to take to update gamble.

Some good news and some bad news. The good is that the Alarms seem to work, at least for me. The bad news is that I now have to go poke myself with a correction dose lol. 16.5 mmol and rising rapidly lol.

That sounds a silly plan. If you wanted to test whether alarms work you could have just brought the alarm settings down rather than making yourself high.

I was high for a few minutes before the correction dose kicked in and brought it back down. I could have done it that way but I was too dumb to think of it at the time, thanks for pointing it out for future reference.

LOL, yeah I was taking no chances after the CGM upgrade debacle. I still can't pair my NovoPen Echo
I fixed that problem by requesting a new NovoPen 6 from my GP and relegating the old one to back up. The new pen scan no problem and has continues to do so since I got it. I think the problem with the LibeLink app is that, if you try to start a NovoPen 6 or Echo again when that pen has large number of readings in it's memory (my two old Pens has over 900 and over 240 reading each) that is too much load on the app and it causes the app to crash.

As I say since getting new pens they have scanned with the app no problem.

I think you are spot on, I will see if my GP will issue me a new one.
