I put my carbs in and did a bolus, but it was interrupted telling me there was a blockage. No idea where, but it told me to change my cannula and do a BG. I am using a 780G with Simplera Sync sensors in Smartguard.

My questions are:
I found out the I had not delivered all my bolus and needed another 1.6 units.
I was told to change the the cannula, to do a BG and calibrate.

  • Any ideas about what I should have done in order to deliver the remaining Bolus
  • Should I have re entered the carbs
  • I phoned Medtronic support, who are usually very good, and they told me that Smartguard would automatically deliver the remainder. However the active insulin remained the same, but then it decided on that when I out in the carbs and started the bolus.
Any ideas welcome. I am sat at 6.2 having started the bolus at 5.4 and having eaten a meal with a 20 min pre bolus time. @everydayupsanddowns have you experienced this. I know you have only been using this system for a short time.

Oh what a faff for you @SB2015 :(

No that’s not something I’ve had. No idea what I’d do.

Hope it all works out OK.

Thanks @everydayupsanddowns . First blockage ever on this pump so new to me. Once I had changed cannula etc (a bit of a skanky site and some bruising so could explain the blockage) I let Smartguard sort it out and kept a watch on BG. A bit higher than I would like initially but things quickly settled back down.

Good support from pump careline (during normal working hours) and offered these options:
  • In the daily history, once on the bolus, scrolling down shows amount of bolus missed
  • If it a small amount of bolus missed let Smartguard sort it out with autocorrections
  • If it is a big amount of the bolus, come out of Smartguard and do a manual (pen) bolus and stay out of Smartguard for a couple of hours then restart (also a reminder not be out of Smartguard for 4 hours as you then have to go through the 24 hour start up again)
Every day is a school day!!!
