My message is that yes I had gestational diabetes in my 2nd pregnancy 37 years ago and sadly I put on 4 and a half stones in weight compared to my 1st pregnancy which was one and a half stones, as didnt know all those years ago the reason. My son was born 11 pounds in weight yes a big baby and so I didnt loose all of the weight like the first time around and it has taken me years and years, and even now the age I am of 64 did the slimming world online again in first lock down to loose a stone, and this year have lost half a stone as my doctor refered me to local hosptial diabetic clinic with my diabetic bloods and urine reading were very high, and with diet and care and a short walk each day although i have some mobility issues due to oesteo-arthritus these days have maanged to prevent going onto the insulin injections and remain today with taking tablets, thankfully so it can be done, and yes its very hard when my husband brings sugared dononts from morrisons into the house. Then that is up to him on his own diet but try and guide him and also my son who eats haribos till the cows come home tell him all of the time that he could end up same as me.

Hi joysutty, welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you've been on a bit of a rollercoaster with your health but glad you're here and getting on track. From what you've said, it sounds as though you've got a good formula for keeping your weight in a helpful range so hopefully you can remain consistent with what you've been doing well.

Temptations in the home is such a tricky thing to deal with! Might be worth seeing if there's anything you like that can be a treat for you to have when the rest of the family is enjoying something such as berries and Greek yogurt.

Do feel free to have a look around the site and let us know if there's anything we can help with.
