While at work today I was chatting to a visitor who was doing the Dr Mosley diet. Her partner is diabetic and she said that his BG levels have decreased significantly and that her cholesterol levels have dropped and they have been doing it for six months or so. I wondered if anyone on here followed this ? And if so what they thought about it ? She doesn't do the 800 cal thing though x

Hi Manda I bought the Dr Moseley 8wk blood sugar diet book but to date I've only glanced at it - nothing further than this. Is this the diet you are referring to? Your visitors have done extremely well in 6 months well done to them. Take care

Yes that is the diet she was speaking about ... Sounds like it is worth a look but I don't believe I can only eat 800 cals a day I would be hank Marvin x

I've just had a look at the back of his book about Hba1c and it says :
Normal range : Below 42mmol/molecular (6%)
Pre-diabetes: 42 to 47 mmol/molecular (6.0-6.4%)
Diabetic: Over 48mmol/molecular (6.5%)

I'm still amazed that I was dx with 42mmol ! Shortly to see my GP so will discuss with him.
Have just glanced very briefly - the cals vary from about -180 cals upwards - but less for individual veg fruit etc - have you Googled his book - best have a look first see what you think if you're thinking of buying x

Not quite the same thing, but my partner has been doing just one day a week calorie restriction (around 600 cals) for about a year, and he's lost weight, lost body fat, and lowered his blood pressure. He hasn't even been particularly strict about it: he's skipped a week here and there if we've been on holiday or out or if he's doing something more energetic than usual that day.
