The life expectancy for people with type 1 diabetes in Scotland has dramatically improved, new research reveals.
Professor Helen Colhoun and Dr. Shona Livingstone from the University of Dundee, who conducted the study, call for insurance companies to reflect this change in insurance policies for people with the condition.
The researchers utilised data from the Scottish Care Information - Diabetes Collaboration (SCI-DC) database, which holds information for nearly all those individuals with diabetes across Scotland, and linked this data with death rate data from the General Register.

If this happens, then they'll also reduce the premium you can get from enhanced annuities...🙄
