I was originally started on insulin 12 days ago Humalog mix 25 (10 units am and eve)but told to maintain all tablets - 2g metformin and 4x30mg diamicron.
Yesterday started on an 8/12 split of Humalog and told to stop diamicron immediately. Reason was low bg late am - in low 4s- and low teens at bedtime which in turn gave high am readings c 10. plus saw a proper DSN at a local support meeting who looked at my readings and told me to tell (strongly suggest!) the GP what I should be on. My nurse being in USA for another week

No low readings yesterday but still 9.2 this am after 8.0 at bedtime.
Any thoughts anyone?

No thoughts buthope things sort themselves out for you.

Thoughts - obviously, make appointment with your GP and explain what support group DSN suggested. Record all doses taken, food eaten, activities etc, plus blood glucose readings, assuming you are recording them, which may be difficult if GP isn't prescribing strips, and take these records when you see GP.
