Do you keep your insulin at the bottom or top of the fridge?

Neither, the door 🙂

Top door of the fridge, in a tupperware container. 🙂

Stored vials in the top of the door, 'in use' always out at room temp 🙂

I know a couple of people who have a small fridge just for insulin. They share a big fridge and it is safer to have a small fridge just for their insulin.

top door also, where you would find the egg holders...........[never keep my eggs in the fridge though...]....😉

On the top shelf in a clear plastic container with a fridge thermometer in it, so I can always glance and check they're at the correct temp 😉

In clip lock plastic box in salad box at bottom, so that it can never be pushed into contact with elements. As I live in a shared house, with partner, 1 permanent lodger and 2 temporary ones, it's best to keep out of everyone else's way.

Top shelf in container with thermometer too. Used to keep it in our garage fridge but that has started to get too cold as the temperature dropped and no fiddling with the thermostat seemed to work so to be on the safe side brought it back to inside fridge.

Top of the door too, with the Hypokit. It's a bit too high for me to use 'generally' and there's another deeper shelf underneath it so if I wanted to keep eggs there, I could!

Mine has always been in the door - seems to be a good place to stop it freezing.

Mine is in the top compartment in the door as well with the cheese.

Bottom In the Salad Drawer for me . Mind you seeing alot of you keep it in Door mite chang it over 🙂

I have to confess I always thought the door was a bit of a dangerous place because of that being the bit exposed each time you go into the fridge BUT reading all your posts actually its at less danger getting a tiny bit too warm than it is too cold, so I too may move it. Something to think about, certainly.

I was told to in 1972 - they said 'Does your fridge have an egg compartment along the top of the door? I said Yes. They said That's an ideal place to keep it then.

Still obeying .....

Since 1965 my insulin has always been stored in the door of a fridge.

In todays day of MDI it's ideal due to someone in the family going to the fridge at meal times it can be seen so an ideal reminder to do your insulin.

Mine is stored in the door of the ridge too, the Vials for the Pump in the top (Egg) compartment and the Penfills (in case of Pump failure) in a holder just below this.

Insulin that is currently in use is kept at room temperature to reduce the risk of bubbles forming, so an opened vial is kept in it's box on a shelf in the living room where I can get to it when a set change is required.

Unused cartridges in the top of the fridge door (with chillies and ginger) and pens in use anywhere are room temp unless we travel to hot climates when I use a frio bag.

Stock of vials in the small rectangular niche in the top of the fridge door, the next vial to be loaded into the pen in one of the elastic loops in the pen case (the pen itself is clipped into the other one).
