RAS AL KHAIMAH ? As the UAE comes second worldwide after the Narushima Island in terms of the number of diabetics, the Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) will start producing the raw material for Insulin by the end of the year, and be involved in regionally expansive care campaigns.
According to a top official here, diabetes rates in the Middle East and North Africa are among the highest in the world, and the chronic disease has hit millions of people around the world.
