- Relationship to Diabetes
my husband, 77 has been type 2 for around 12 years. He has been controlled by medication until recent high readings prompted our Doctor to start him on 10 units of Lantus SoloStar 100 once daily. After the second dose he developed a rash around forehead, nose and chin. Thereafter getting severely loose bowels. He stopped insulin after three days at docs advice until bowels settled. After approx 10 days if suffering sever trots or constipation he.finally felt well enough to try insulin again! He administered 10 units last night at 8.30 and by 3.00am was back on the toilet with severe trots, burning anus and bleeding. Doc advised cease insulin.again.until he.can.see.him on Monday. Any help/comments re adverse effects would be.much appreciated. Thanks in advance
