Precisely. Conducted a straw poll at breakfast with some pals today and they all said in-shoe-lin with the emphasis on the last syllable. Just like what I does.

Romans - in sull ah (soft A according to my Latin teacher - as in the plural in the verb - amo, amas, amat, am-ah-mus, am-ah-tis, amant)

Me today - in shoe lar/penin shoe la (hard A)

That's close to how I pronounce it, but then I spend a lot of time in N.Wales each year 😉

I'm more like Ins-uh-lin though it could be Ins-a-lin if you were to hear it spoken.

To be perfectly honest, what does it matter how we pronounce it? As long as we know what it is, what it does and how much to take we shouldn't really worry how to say the word should we?
