Insulin Activity Very Slow

I was diagnosed with Type 1 in 1977 and an now 74 years old, so have managed diabetes for 47 years without too many serious issues.
Recently I've noticed that my control has been affected by changing from Glargine Lantus to Tresiba long acting insulin.
Glargine Lantus worked well at keeping my glucose level stable overnight but the penjector doesn't retain an injection record which can be dangerous, so I was transferred to Tresiba cartridges delivered by a penjector that records injections.
Unfortunately the Tresiba behaves more like a rapid acting insulin, so requires lots of carb before bed to keep safe overnight. The plummeting glucose level after injecting Tresiba is scary to watch and potentially extremely dangerous. Normal sleep is affected too.
Does anyone know of a long acting insulin replacement for Glargine Lantus delivered via cartridge so injections can be recorded by the penjector?
I have memory issues so recording injections on paper isn't the answer.
I believe that Tresiba is not fit for purpose.

If Lantus worked better then change back and use an alternative method for the memory part. There are caps you can get with a memory eg timesulin. You’d need to buy that yourself.

@BigDaddyCat Why not try Levemir? It uses the Novopen pen injector and that records the dose. In the meantime, perhaps you could speak to your nurse about reducing the Tresiba. What time do you inject it?
