After a recent delay in obtaining my Insulatard Penfill prescription I was told by the pharmacist that the manufacturers had a low supply of stock...

Just to let you know if you are using this product so you can make sure that you have plenty in stock. Also I wondered if any-one else has been having this issue. I am located in the Warwickshire region.

Thanks for the warning Jane. I'm pretty sure I've got plenty as I don't go through Insulatard too fast, but I will check when I'm home. Better safe than sorry! I'm in North Worcestershire, so not too far away from you.

I've been wondering how many people here are on Insulatard - we seem to be in a fairly small minority!

I used to do insulatard, and then I got changed and to be honest Im not really sure why. But I have to say, I think it was becuase my clinic clearly favour their clients being on Lantus and novorapid! Everyone I know there is on this combo!

Probably because insultard has a big peak which doesn't suit too many people. I'm sure they won't completly run out but being well stocked will mean you will avoid having to use a syringe. thanks for the warning Jane

i used to have insulatard but as it is an older insulin and suffers from huge peaks (as nikki said) my dsn moved me over to lantusx and i must say my control is so much better.

A few weeks back my pharmacist told me they were having problems getting much stock of the needles I use, said nowhere local had any to spare, seems to be sorted now though so hopefully some will happen with this.
