I usually inject my levemir in my thighs or bottom but have noticed recently that I am waking up with high BGs, around 12+. I have injected into my arms for the past week or so and have had to reduce the units from 20 down to 16 due to early morning hypos and am still only around 4 on waking. I'm not great at injecting into my right arm though so was wondering how long it will take before I can go back to my thighs? I'm guessing a few months. I inject my NR into stomach and arms.

You gotta keep changing your sites. To inject into my right arm I lean against a door frame so my arm flesh bunches up and in it goes. Waking with a BS of 4 is a bit too low.

sounds like you need to look at reducing your basal dose again - waking on 4 is cutting it a bit fine! 🙂

If you've been told to avoid an area, I find they tend to suggest it in years, rather than weeks or months.

For consistency I would stay away from the arms for your basal dose, if that's the pattern you are observing............

There is plenty of room on the thighs, bum, stomach to keep the rotation good.......

For me, all sites are considered for both insulins, I remember where I injected last and then inject somewhere different........

If you have been advised to stay away from the thighs, there is still the stomach and bum...........

I've read different accounts from different people...

Some suggest modern analogues are no longer so affected by injection site as their predecessors (so effectively you can inject anything anywhere)

Others seems to find that injecting in some places appears to affect their insulin sensitivity (so that some sites might require a slightly altered dose or timing)

As everything I guess... YDMV
